Vishishtadvaita
Qualified monism — Ramanuja‘s framework for reading Vedanta.
Overview
The Vedantic framework developed by Ramanuja Acharya, roughly two centuries after Shankara. Ramanuja’s Gita commentary explains the text within this framework.
In Swami’s framing, Vishishtadvaita is one of three major commentarial traditions that draw from the Gita without exhausting it. Each produces genuine insight; none has a monopoly on the text.
