Arjuna’s teacher in the martial arts; also on the opposing side at Kurukshetra.

Overview

Drona (Dronacharya) was one of Arjuna‘s teachers in archery and weapons, along with Kripacharya. At Kurukshetra he is among the Kauravas. That his own teachers are arrayed against him compounds Arjuna’s grief at the start of the war — to fight is to kill the people he most owes.
